will this ring gear fit in our rear h233b axle?

Well 5:13 is the biggest ratio that goes in the H233B so I'd say yes..

Rugged rocks sells bigger ratios than 5.13. I know it says that its for a old h233b for the Patrol but It's a h233b and it does have N33 in the product code which makes me believe that its even for a 33 spline count. I think I am going to do it and if I have success then I will let everyone know of a much much cheaper option to re gear our butts.

5.143 is the lowest ratio that will work in the R200A front diff. I forgot how low you can go in the H233B rear but I think it's pretty close to 5.8 or 5.9.

Yeah. The h233b can go pretty low.I think I am going to call Motive Gear and see if they'd be up for some sort of group buy. i think there could be a substantial interest in this gear set. I know a lot of us should be running 5.13s but don't due to cost of the rings. This could help in that quest to get us properly geared. I am running Motive Gear 4.88s and have a 5.13 Motive Gear for my Dana 44 up front and have had no issues with it.

The listing says for the front. Doesn't that mean it will be reverse cut?
EDIT; Looks like the eBay listing is reverse cut compared to the Jegs one. I wish the Canadian dollar was a little better right now but if they made something for the stock front I'd buy them both at that price. Just diffs is about $300 each i think.

So a little update on the ring gear by motive gear. It is the right rotation and it fits like a glove. Super smooth no noise at all. You can order it on jegs website and for $200 plus free shipping you can't beat it. Finally a cheaper alternative to re gearing our back ends.

So I've seen quite a bit about this, but is regearing to a 5.13 or 5.14:1 ratio really worth it? Between the money and time spent (assuming you have 4.9 gears) you get about a 5% reduction in gear ratio. I think the final drive numbers for the automatic transmission in first and 4LO is ~29:1 crawl ratio to the 4.9s ~27:1 crawl ratio. Does it make a huge difference? It makes a lot more sense if you had the 4.6 gears, but it seems like an awful lot of money and work for what, by the numbers, appears to be a pretty small difference. So I guess I'm really curious as to where you notice the difference the most and if the gear change has enabled you to run way larger tires or do things you had no chance of doing before.

I'd say it's worth it if you run 35s. With 33s and 4.9s it actually drives great.

Mad props to akuria for guinea pigging this though. That's a killer deal.
