Didn't see a thread on this and I'm looking for a wider stance to go with 33x12.50 on stock BSed "snowflake" 15x7 rims. To push out 2"s further what is available and from who? What are the pros & cons?

What say you?!?!?!

Luke is running 1.5" spacers on 33 10.50s. Make sure that you get the ones that replace your lugs, and that when you lock the lugs you use red locktite. I plan on running some spacers when the cash flow starts running again.

Then the BSing needs to go what to push the tire out 1.5- 2"?

I'm asking because I see 1.5" spacers at $100 per set compliments of 4WheelParts VS. buying a new set of 5 rims @ $$$$.

Those who have wheel spacers,
From what I've seen, the spacers themselves are typically aluminum - - how does this work with a steel wheel and drum when heat is introduced? Both steel and 6061-T6 Alum. expansion and contraction are different.

If you are not having problems, than I'm all for getting a set. Just wasn't sure how steel and aluminum mix made sense, as I've worked with both in two industries (structural).

Stock is 5.5 so you'd go to 4 or 3.5 to accomplish the same stance as 1.5 or 2 inch spacers respectively. That's assuming you stay with 7 inch wheels.

I was comfused there for a bit... going that low in BSing from what I've read if I understand is not ggobble. It causes more trimming. I didn't think spacers would cause the same effect by shifting the whole tire/rim out vs. just the tire. Or am I still comfused?

Backspacing is the measurement from the back side of the wheel to the mounting surface. Spacers accomplish the same thing as reduced backspacing on the back side of the wheel so either way with that much you'll be doing some trimming.

Yeah 2" further out on the axle is still 2" out. I believe 1 1/4 is the smallest they sell do to lug length and spacer strength. If you can live with the narrowness of stock its highly suggested. For many reasons, wear on components, less lugs to fail, better tire clearance, better steering leverage and some shops won't service your vehicle if it has spacers. I know my local discount tire is one of them they think they are of to much risk. I personally don't feel they are of that much danger as I can't find any failures online that have occurred to people that have PROPERLY torqued the studs. They have become pretty mainstream among enthusiasts. Basically to sum it up on a 1st gen it's a for looks mod you like the wide stance buy them. For what stability you might gain you have other shortcomings. If i sound negative towards them I'm not trying to be just stating the obvious. I'm still considering trying a set myself. As car friends of mine have used them without issue.

No negative stuff here...neeeeverrrrr. I asked for folks opinions to help me decide. I wanted a wider stance but basically don't want to spend money on wider rims when I already have rims I like. I'm just a plan old fashioned cheep miser. If my max limitation is 33x12.50 on 15x7 rims then so be it and onto my next issue...I'm cool with that. I got too many other things on my list to get to. Hopefully this thread helps someone as it did me... Thanks everyone.

Yeah if your going to go with a tire of that width and you want the wide look new rims would be the better option. Get something like a 15x8 to allow a more square tire profile 4.5 or 5.0 backspace.

The only benefit of going spacer with stock 15x7 is because the rim is narrower then a 15x8 you would be 1" inch more inboard (if they have the same backspace). As rims get wider the width is tacked on the outer edge.

I personally would swap to 16" rims as then you could go 33x11.5x16 which would fit with less rubbing.

the problem for me with 16" rims is that the actual tire cost goes up as well and then I'm locked into 16 " tires going forward. Remember I cheep:lols:
