Derrick, I'm not sure how much you are checking in. I've been enjoying monitoring your location so far. Please pay attention to flooding conditions over here in Arkansas once you cross MS river and start heading west - a lot of the secondary streams are backed up because of the conditions on the AR river, this will probably affect some of the back roads you plan to travel. The AR river is projected to crest even higher again next week, so I don't see things improving much over the next week or more. Here's a state sponsored website that showed flooded highways, right now mainly in the western side of the state. http://www.idrivearkansas.com/closures/ maybe this will give you some idea of problem areas that the back roads will go though. At any rate, I would expect LOTS of clay mud. Safe travels!

The frame seemed to bend from maybe too much weight hanging on the tongue or the need for more support on the bumper

It's crazy of all his custom work on the camper, the solid steel bumper is what gives first. I guess it was technically the frame. But that's just ironic to me

How it all gets straightened away and you can get back to your travels!

Wow, Thanks you all for updating this while I was away from internet. I did not see very much flooding in Arkasas. You guys have pretty good drainage. Mississippi was a sloppy mess. Lets call it the mud state. Oklahoma so far is flooded Today just alone I had to take 5 detours to go around roads that were 10+ft under. Then when going over bridges you could see that the water was 20+ ft in some spots and just the top of trees were sticking up. And the floating debris was crazy.

Basically I turned down a crazy farm field road and it was gravel all of a sudden it changed to just tire tracks and grass covering and Bam. giant pot hole Finished to safe spot and ohh ****. I have a bunch of tunge weight but earlier that day I removed the spare winch. Now I just have the trailer and no spare tire or jerry cans which were empty, and no spare winch. I doubt I was over 500lbs but with the off-road action I'm sure that force was not soft. And with the problems the day before I think it weakened it all up. I was rescued by Cody. The guy who had the giant Monster Truck at NXM 3. He dragged my camper to his place 1hr 20mins away and let me stay in the driveway that night. In the morning he took me to one of the fab shops he likes. And they helped reinforced it. BTW he no longer has the monster and has a very nice trail rig ready Xterra. And his wife's Xterra is nice too.

The website is updated for this last week of hell.

Honestly at this point. I want to say **** UTAH. It is hot, dry, and everyone is a little weird that I've met. It is like no one has gone through puberty. Every time I curse which is natural its like a get a weird look.

I might still do the rest of the US part if I have time. It all depends on wildfire and time right now.
Ahh ok. Makes sense. I enjoy reading your blog and am quite envious of your trip. I hope it goes off w/o any more vehicle issues.
