I think my torque converter needs replaced and I was wondering if anybody has ever used a replacement torque converter that wasn't genuine Nissan. I don't have the money to pay approx $1500 to get one from Nissan. (This link: http://parts.nissanusa.com/nissanpa...eid=14&groupid=F&sectionid=311&partcode=31100 ) I was wondering if any body has bought one from this place.

I'm just afraid that if I don't get it from Nissan the quality won't be as good and it won't last as long the current one has 180,000 miles one it and I would like to have the new one last at least that long.

I'm replacing the torque converter because of a clunking noise that is coming from inside the bell housing so im guessing it's either a cracked flex plate or something going with the torque converter. It runs and drives great just has a clunking noise whenever I'm stationary as soon as I step on the gas and start moving the noise goes away.

I figured if I'm dropping the trans out then I might as well replace the flex plate and torque converter at the same time that way I don't have to do it twice if I do t have to.

Any input is greatly appreciated also it's a 2000 se v6 with a auto trans, thanks
