Anyone have one? What suggestions / recommendations can you give me? I see there are several different models available, and I will be making a trip to J&G Sales up in Prescott, AZ, but I was wondering what your experiences were with AKs.

Man I love my AK. It's a blast to shoot, cheaper than an AR too shoot, easy to clean/disassemble, and probably the most reliable weapon on earth. I have a cheapo wasr/10 made by Century Arms but it's never let me down and Im proud of it. Make sure whatever you buy has a chrome lined barrel and, if you don't want to work on it right off the bat, make sure it dosen't have canted sights. The canted sights are an easy fix and can be a bargaining tool if you find one with them. The easyest way to check is to stand the gun on its stock and look down the barrel at the sights. If you notice the front sight pin is offset in relation to the rear sight, then it is canted. Arsenal is an american manufacturer of Ak's they seem to be what everyone goes for, if you have got the coin. I would just recommend geting a basic cheap model from whoever you decide because you are going to want to trick it out, skock, tri-rail, lights, ect.

Basically Arsenal Inc rifles are re-manufactured here in the U.S. They are imported in a sporting configuration and then converted back to an AK configuration using U.S. parts to be in compliance with 922R regulations. The U.S. parts usually consist of hand guards, stock, pistol grip, trigger, and flash hider or muzzle brake. Past that the rest of the rifle is manufactured in Bulgaria and Russia.

Yes they are pricey but they are outstanding shooting AK's. I have an SLR-107FR and an SGL-20 and love them both.

AZ-Ted are you looking for one chambered in 7.62x39 or 5.45x39?

Thinking of one in the future just for the cheap ammo.
I'm done building AR's for a while and buying handguns. All funds now devoted to Titan swap parts.

I have a Saiga 7.62 with a tapco adjustable stock & its a blast, dirt cheap ammo & the gun will eat anything you feed it, my buddy's AR is picky on ammo but the Saiga doesn't care if it's brass or bi-metal case or what & you can use AK mags if you file the tang abit

I'm thinking of 7.62x39. I will be going up to J&G Sales next week to see what they have. In their ad, they show the Romanian WASR10, the Romanian GP75, and the Hungarian AMD65. It will be interesting to see what they actually have when I get up there.
