Or better yet can't put weights away!!! It drives me nuts, I told a guy today as he walked away from the bench press that his mommy wasn't here to pickup after him so put the weights back where they belong!!! He didn't quite know what to say..

That's a great workout schedule. Swimming is a great workout and more people should do it. I started road biking in the spring and summer because I can't take doing my cardio on the treadmill when it nice outside.. One of my clients does roller derby and she loves it.

I don't like treadmills anyway. Its boring and doesn't feel the same.

After I heard that our work gym won't be fixed by the time I leave and that they won't let me spruce it up because it's a "federal" building (lol it's a fricken garage, c'mon). I signed up for the closest gym. When I started up I was going almost every day, but I put 120 miles easy a week driving to and from work, adding 20 miles round trip to the gym a day, it's A LOT of driving, so recently I haven't been going as much as I want to.

But I'm going to start going more and I've been eating a little more healthy. gobble damn salads are boring as **** and pretty tasteless. I try to spruce it up by adding a couple dressings together and add nuts, blueberries/strawberries and mushrooms and all that into the mix, but it doesn't help the taste of 'plants' lol Not sure how long I'll stick to salads.

But when I go to the gym, I typically always run a mile and a half on the tread and then hit the weights. Wish I would stay there longer but I get bored easily and it's a small gym (which isn't bad because the machines are almost never in use, so there's always something to do). At least when I'm there I work hard and break a sweat, especially when I run and it's around 7k elevation.

Last night I superset biceps and shoulders. I've been on this superset kick lately. In the past I've done super sets with opposite muscle groups ie biceps and triceps. The last couple ones I've been doin them with completely different muscle groups like biceps and shoulders where one isn't really correlated with each other. Leg day is strictly leg day and where I normally do a minute rest period I'll do 3-5 depending on the weight and how I feel.

Today was a glorious day at the University Rec. Didn't have to wait for anything and there was actually room to walk around without tripping over someone's left-out weights.

In another note, does anybody have a good 3/week regiment? Mine just doesn't feel like its cutting it. Its not that I breeze through it, but it feels short and lacking. I make up for it with a run and abs almost every time afterwords (and then the arduous bike ride home).

PM me your # and we can talk about it. I've got a few different ones that might help out. Need to figure out what your doing presently and what the goals are, then it pretty easy from there..

That's a tough combo!!!! Shoulders are a tough muscle group because it's a small muscle group and they get tired quick, you might want to put Legs and Shoulders together. I've been doing that for a few years now and it seems to work well.. I like super sets a lot, but typically do them more on push/pull groupings.

I used to do it but then my leg days got longer as I go pretty heavy for a good amount of sets. I'll do 135 warmup deep squat for 10 reps the 225 warmup deep squat for 10 reps and then 315 for the same and my working sets are 3 or 4 sets for anywhere from 365 to 385 depending on if I have a spotter or how I'm feeling. What really takes time is loading 900 lbs on leg press and then unloading it and doing 3-4 sets of 10 reps and having longer breaks for recover. TBH I've only done a couple workouts with random super setting bc I usually do the push pull method. On my back days i think I'm going to stick with width/depth exercises and just do back. I did that the other day and loved the results. Doing just back and a lot of it but hitting it in de offering angles

I like it, more people need to do squats.. I stay light with squats I don't go heavier than 225 and don't go ass to ankles either, due to the fact that I've had 12 knee surgeries. I do the same thing with Hacksquats and I typically do 3 to 4 sets with reps of 15. I've been doing push pull for a few years and really like it, I typically do that for 4 to 6 weeks and then go push push, pull pull for 3 to 4 weeks and then back to the norm. I've had really good results with it, I'm more concerned about strength than size. I'm 6' 4" and a petite 250lbs and I'll cut it down to 240lbs over the next 2 months.. My days of lifting heavy are done, it used to be fun to go throw around 365 on the bench for 10+ reps with the 20yr olds to piss them off but it's not happening anymore cuz it hurts to damn bad now..

yeah having 12 knee surgeries will cut down your squatting distance/time. I dont do ass to ground either...i go parallel. never have gone that low and im content with that. At some point i think ill change the way I workout just because im 5' 8" and 270. Stocky as shiz but its hard to get excited about doing cardio even though i do about 2 hrs a week (2 one hour cardio classes a week) plus warming up on the spinning bike and walking if i have time afterwards to cool down. i love to sit in the sauna afterwards. lets me relax and what not. I will say though i really only started lifting since the beginning of the summer/end of spring. I hadnt squat since high school and most i ever got up to was maybe 225. I was strong but i had the mentality of getting strong through playing not lifting. So really I went from 225 to 385 in squatting for the last 8 months. not terrible since i dont have a trainer or a partner. i lift for me..not for anyone else or competition

I am about to start exercising again with the 10 minute training program from the guy that invented P90X. I need to get rid of 70 lbs. to be at 200. Its been 11 years since I was at that weight. So my plan is to start with this program then once complete repeat or do the P90X.

Yeh Cardio Sucks!!!! But it's necessary to achieve our goals.. I'd rather do the spin bike or Stair Master then the treadmill.. That's a great gain!!! Yeh I'm lucky on that part I've got 2 trainers that work for me that I work out with a couple times a week and then I have 1 of my buddies that I workout with 2 to 3 days a week..

Hey Ramiro,
That's a great place to start, the best thing you can do for yourself is to remember to drink plenty of water and eat!! People think if they limit calories that's all they need to do and it's not the case. If you have access to a treadmill or stationary bike start with 30 min a day a try to get to 1hr 3 times a week.. To lose 1lb a week you need a 500 calorie deficit a day, it's safe to say you can lose 2lbs a week pretty easily.

I've cut 16lbs in 19 days, started walking 25-30 minutes a day on treadmill and cutting out all soft drinks and energy drinks...

Nice work!! It's amazing what happens when you get rid of the soft drinks and energy drinks the amount of sugar is ridiculous on these.. Got to admit the energy drinks are one of my only vices left Sugar Free Rockstar.. Keep up the good work.

Cutting out sodas is one of the best things most people can do.....one girl I know, who is really skinny to begin with, stopped drinking them and lost 10lbs.

I still occasionally drink soda but I don't buy it.....just when I go out to eat...even then I normally have tea so soda is really rare. What I need to do is not eat such large amounts and eat healthier....but I really really love food. If I could lose 20-30 lbs of fat I'd be cut. I'm not going for a particular weight target because I'm also going for muscle gain.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I love food and love eating and I dont drink sodas at all - they are a big no-no for the kidney transplant. The other issue is that some of my meds make me gain weight just by salivating, but the fact that I eat pretty much what I want doesnt help, but where my wife can eat a whole cow and a bucket of ice cream and dont gain anything.

When I got outta bootcamp (30 years ago) I was a rock.
Now past the age 50 I'm more of a marshmallow.

So I just got this a couple weeks ago.

Never be a rock again but hope to get rid of some of the marshmallow.

Sure (I don't get it), but let me clarify something.

After reading my post, my comment about my wife makes me look like an a$$, I didn't intend to do that. My wife is my best friend and she is, literally, the reason why I didn't have to undergo dialysis, she was my kidney donor. I was just trying to say that I gain weight so damn easily and the fact that I eat anything I want and I am taking steroids as anti-rejection meds also contribute to it where, she can eat anything and don't have the impact I have.

Oh I understand you weren't meaning any ill will. But I am saying that some people eat whatever they want and lose weight or maintain. For me if I start to slack off, such as I have this semester for the past 5 weeks I gain a ton!
