Soooo I'm having a heck of a time finding bolt carrier assemblies. Found one from PSA for $50, Is that too cheap? Others I looked at we're around or over $100 on operation parts.

Edit: it was just the assembly not the complete group. They are out of stock for all of them. Are they really gonna be that hard to find?

just find a killer deal on a complete rifle and then you can mod it to fit what you want after the fact if you're trying to find it quickly...

Right now.....yes they are going to be that hard to find. Is $50 to cheap? Not really, BCM is very high quality and they run right at $69 but are also out of stock. http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/BCM-Bolt-Carrier-Auto-M16-p/bcm carrier with gas key.htm

Check these guys out. They are a highly respected shop within the shooting community, and usually have the components in stock. Prices will be a little higher than some places, but so is the quality. They do not stock the lower end components.

Grant and the crew are not only highly knowledgable, but also willing to share that knowledge and easy to deal with.

I can tell you that the barrel is on my short list. It's definitely a great deal on quality kit. I just bought one of the blemished lowers for $60.

That's exactly what I'm gonna do. I looked around and most people said the blems were barely noticeable. It's gonna be a hunting rifle that gets beat up anyways so I figured it doesn't really matter. How much is your FFL person charging? I'm trying to find a decent price.

They vary. Mine only charges me for background because I'm Fire/EMS. I've seen them as low as $10, but most common is $15-$25.

A little update for anyone who cares! I went to a small, local shop the other day to see about an FFL transfer. I ended up buying a DPMS lower with complete lower kit, including stock, for $200 on the dot. He was pretty cool about it, since I'm not 21 he let me buy it now and I'll just pick it up when I turn 21 in a few weeks! Haven't been able to find it online, if/when I do I'll post up a link. EDIT: here is a picture of it complete assembled.

I bought this over the weekend when they had it on sale for $419.95. I don't know what I feel about the vortex sight but I figured $420 shipped to my door was good, and if I don't like the sight I'll just sell it.

All I need now is a complete BCG. I'll probably get one from DSArms, they've got complete ones for $120 + shipping. Speaking of, has anyone had any experience with them? Click HERE to check out their site. Seems like some good priced stuff for budget builds.

DSArms is slow to fulfill orders, from what I hear. I inquired about them at ARFCOM and got nothing but poor reviews about their shipping times.

Just bought 17 boxes of this to get the $5 shipping!

$5.99 for 20 rounds of PSC 55grn FMJBT for the range. Figured under $115 for 340 rounds isn't bad.

not too bad, but, remember, 55gr will fly very differently than 62gr, or anything heavier, it's faster and sometimes flatter, which means, for sighting, especially if you're going to add a scope, you need to pick a grain weight and stick to it, as you really need to re-zero for each weight.

Yeah I haven't decided what grain bullet I want to stick with. If I dont like how these 55's shoot in my gun I'll give them to my dad to use in his and move on to another round.

I got my blemished lower today...MINOR MINOR MINOR flecks of finish gone off the front of the mag well. Seriously, I don't even know why it was sold as a blem, but I'll take it!

That's awesome! I've read that they really are hardly blemished at all. They had another sale but were sold out before I could order, again. All of 24 hours!

Nice. :D I never understood the issue people have with blem lowers/uppers. People who worry about blems build safe queens while rifles that get used will end up with character marks all over them. I end up painting all mine anyway so it makes no difference to me.

My credit card likes the blemished ones better than the "spec" ones. Now I gotta put the thing together without an armorer's tool.

Ok sorry to hear about work. Two choices for you, wait a bit until I can free up my schedule and I can give you a hand assembling it or I'll gladly ship you the special tools to assemble it and you can ship them back when you're done.

Either one would be great. Does your schedule free up over the winter? I hope to have this thing put together and putting lead down range before the spring thaw.

Currently in Miami racing and we have one more race after this one in NOLA the beginning of October. We'll probably be done with this years testing by the end of October so really from November to the beginning of March I have a pretty flexible schedule. Just let me know what you want to do.

I've got something pretty close to that on mine, I'm mostly happy with it, though, I'd like better zoom...then again, I'm setting mine up for shooting out to 550-600m, if you're staying inside of 300m you'll be fine with that.

here's one on amazon for $85, with a green laser sight built on.

that being said, I found a lot of reviews saying it doesn't keep its zero very well.

here's the one I use, it's $105

the only problem I've had is I'm apparently hard on the quick release and have bent one of the sides, so, it's not exactly securely locking all of the time, but, it's held its zero flawlessly after being dropped a couple of times (in the soft case) and has been more than adequate for my needs...like I said above, the only thing I want to replace it for, is because I want a better magnification...I'm looking for a 6-24 to use for when I want to go for long range or extreme precision.

Honestly, a lower is a lower is a lower. The only thing different is the rollmark (logo).

With that said, I have a PSA lower. Fit and function is spot on.

Blemished. I put more dummy marks on it during assembly. My upper is blemished, too. All it is is just the finish. Mine won't be a safe queen (matter of fact, it rode around in my truck half the day today), so I don't care what it looks like.

Unfortunately for us, the days if $70 "blemished" lowers is gone for a long time. Wish I would have ordered a handful when they had them at that price :(

I paid $59.99 for my lower, $69.99 for my upper, both PSA blems.

We'll see them again, especially after this panic. I'd be willing to bet that a lot of blemished parts will hit the virtual shelves from different manufacturers.
