Mother. Ufcker.

I am pissed.

I thought it was a little glossy when I was laying it down. But that's just how flat paint looks when it's wet, right?

This is completely dry.

Man, thats nothing like the cap. Which is uncommon for this paint.

I hate it. And now it has to be redone. And I did it without sanding so that the plastic. And aluminum would retain the original texture. Which they did beautifully. Now I'm wondering if the flat will even spray correctly over the semi gloss. Or I'll have to sand everything and then sand the other side which I haven't painted yet. Just so they look the same.

If they ever will look the same. I'm almost ready to throw it in the junk pile and go find another one.

I think if you just use glossy now, 2 or more coats should cover huh? Maybe clear it?

I'm almost ready to drill a hole in the roof of the truck. As soon as I get my rails reinstalled I'll know exactly where to drill.

Did some work on my alley lights this afternoon. Got one side wired up. Tonight I'll finish painting the other rail and get it bolted back on tomorrow.

Here's some night shots of the lights. I wish I could get the light a bit closer to the body, but the roof rack is so far back, that's the cutoff of the roof on the ground.

I almost went this route with those lights but I didn't like that you can't adjust them up/down etc. I wanted a close flush mount but loose that adjustability.

Clean work as always.

Might be a dumb question, but what is the purpose of alley lights? Seems that everything you/the spotter needs to see would be covered by rock lights.

Little more range from the lights and when seting up camp in thee dark they realy help lighting up yur work area. We have them on wambulances around here and the fire engines to help read house numbers and to light up a area so we can see what or who we are working on.

That's really it. It's not so much for wheeling but for setting up camp or working on something.

When you cover everything in light, nothing needs adjusting.
That's true lol. I only have 2 on each side. I may end up replacing them as they are already building condensation. I bought cheap ones so I'll have to buy some a little more expensive.
