Noob Shot Gun Question

I may or may not have purchased a Mossberg 835 ultamag 12g Shotgun, for those unfamilar with said gun, the barrel is overbored to a 10g so as to not kick your ass when you shoot a magnum load it takes. the normal size and the magnum load. Anyway since it is overboard to a 10g if i had said gun and need to clean it should i use a normal 12g cleaning kit or a 10g for the barrel?
Any help would be greatful, and may or may not be useful.
:D
Also any good cleaning howtos/or links or tips would be appreciated.

If the barrel is 10ga you would likely be better off with the 10ga kit, the cleaning rope or whatever you use for cleaning the barrel will fit the barrel better, but I'm not sure what it will do when it gets to the 12ga part, I would think it could squeeze through.

I've never heard of that configuration, it's interesting, I'll have to look it up. Although I do wonder if that does not cancel out the benefit of using higher power shells. As a general rule the more you feel on your end the harder it's shooting out the other, bar shock absorbing qualities of the stock and the mass of the gun being used to dissipate the recoil.

I took it out clay shooting I'm very pleased with it. I understand what you're say in terms of physics, I wanted something my wife could possibly shoot too and not land on her ass. She's quite petit. And it came with a slug barrel as well pretty happy with it overall just need to give it a good deep clean now

I've been using this stuff called CLP on my handguns, foams up when first applied and seems to do a really nice job cleaning and creeping into crevices. Used it on my smallest handgun which is pretty finicky about lubrication and it did wonders for it's operation. I actually have to wipe it off for days after using it, it continues to creep back out over time. I don't mind because I know it's doing it's job as long as it's oozing out.

In theory, you mean, right?

I like bore snakes and they should be able to go down to 12 gauge from the 10 pretty easy. Then some CLP and call it good.

That is, if I hadn't lost everything I used to own in a tragic boating/gun cleaning accident. Never clean ALL your weapons at the same time in the middle of a very deep body of water in an unstable sailboat. :)

Don't take your AR out on one of those kayaks that you just ride on the top. Very unstable and the evil black rifle slides right off that plastic kayak. :(

I was so mad at the kayak that I stated to shoot it with my .45 and sure enough.... It slid right out of my hand.

That is NOT a bulge under my shirt! Are you calling me FAT!!! :)
