I seriously need to make a run down that way and hit some of the yards. Those hubs turned out damn great and a fresh coat on the outside and some good grease on the inside and you will be set!

The yards up here are good for older vehicles and us built but I have never seen a xterra in the yard. For imports newer then late 90s you have to make the 100 mile drive to the metro area down south

Well snow is here and I think it might be time to fix my abs. I have never owed a car with abs but my wife has it and I guess it's nice. The wire thing is it will work sometimes but normaly not. The light shut off when the battery got disconected the other day but it kicked in as soon as I hit the breaks leaving the autozone parkin lot and then the light came back on so I think it's one of the sensors is dirty

I have the same issue, try cleaning the sensors, my rear driver side wire is pretty torn up so sometimes I will have ABS and others I wont. but I would say start with the sensors

So I finally got a chance to test my compressor after my modifications. Without the tank it took about 10 minutes to air up all 4 tires from 23 psi to 32 psi. I had to tap re tap the outputs to 1/4 npt to fit the new manifold and new presure switch. Once I get the tank installed one side of the manifold will go to the tank and the other will go to the regulator that will be located in the passenger side in the cargo area. The power will be switched by a relay under the hood.

So my truck has started to misfire in cylender 3. Changed the plug and wire. Still missing. I am starting to worry that the optical sensor in the distributer is starting to fail.

Well his morning it started and ran fine. I think I will try pulling the cap for a inspection and checking the coil. Odds are I am on the original distributer and coil and the cap looks a little old so I might be geting condonsation in the distributer like my old toyota did.

The distributor on this engine has a pretty bad reputation for going out. So I wouldn't be surprised if you have to replace it.

Well I'm going to check the coil after finals. I rode my motorcycle to work today (froze my ass off going cross town at 3 am) if the coil is bad all swap it then see what happens. I found a reman unit for under 60 online if I have to replace he distributer. The only codes I'm throwing are a miss on cylender 3 and a nock code. I'm hopeing to find a bad coil since that can be changed with the distributer still in the truck.

Well coil tested bad and the cap and roter need replaced. With all of that and the play in the roter I have deside to replace the distributer. I found a reman for 70. It should be here Friday

Since they don't fit our truck and I'm going to just take them apart to see if I can use any of the parts...$20 plus shipping to 11238?

So I got new distributer in the xterra and set timing to 10 deg btdc but wasn't sure if that was right or not. It is running way better with the new distributer in

Set it to to 15 and it's running great but my knock sensor code is back. I hink I have a bad sensor since it was still tripping even with the timing set at -10

Ignore the knock code, It's a broken sensor and you have to tear down the entire intake to get at it

It doesn't set the light and the impact on the na intake is non existent

That was my thought. I might do the relocation mod. I hear you can use a bent screw driver to disconect the harness with he manifold still in place and reinstall it o one of the intake bolts.

I might use that and find bras bushings to replace the poly when it wears out. I am just having a issue justifying $100 on a hinge

So my miss fire came back today, but much less severe. It will miss for a little but then levels out and runs fine. I think I will be swapping the fule filter in the next cople of days now that it has been warm enough to melt some of the ice off the bottom of the truck. It dosnt smell like gas when it misses so I think it's a fuel issue now, maby I flushed gunk in to the filter when I used a fule treatment. Going through the last owners records I am not finding any thing about the filter being changed.

Just a tip on changing the filter, clamp the hose on the inlet side off or else you will be covered in gas. Every time I have changed my fuel filter in my X it dumps gas all over me.

Another tip. Start the truck and unplug the fuel pump fuse. This will allow the motor to drain the line.
That's how you did it on my old 4runner otherwise you sprayed gas allover the engine. The misfire is driving me nuts as its not constant. I can drive for a week without a miss and then it will do it for a day then be gone again. I'm wondering if it might be electric related like the injectors arn't firing becaus of a low battery or something.

Plug and wires were done just befor I bought it I did the distributer and cap. I have needed a jump start 5 times in the past 2 months so I think the battery is about shot. If I leave the headlights on for more than 15 min wih the engine off it won't start
Edit
I changed the fuel filter which had the mialage written on it at 145000 so I am over 50000 on it. I'll see how it runs tomorrow
