People tend to pull them off immediately. As far as offroading goes they're useless. Might find some soccer mom who'll take em who knows.

I got the new blow off valve for the compressor since I have seen the results of a compressor without one. My new quick fists also came today to mount the mag lights to the trans tunnel and might be picking up a cople more sets to mount the shovle and axe on the rear gate

So the compressor tank won't fit where I want it so I will have to move it forward o the gas tank. I'm still going to mout the compressor over the wheel well

When I got home from my friends wedding this morning I had a package with a roll of 10g and 16g primary wire and some 18g 9 conductor wire as well as a new molded whip mount with coax and a spring to mount my center loaded whip on the rear of the truck and a used cobra 75 from ebay coming next week.

So, is the switch panel for you or your buddy to do the welding for you? Do you have the 2" body lift on yet, its super simple. I'm just catching up on this thread.

I forgot to mention that the compressor needs the output tapped to a 1/4 npt to mount the new manifold on the side and it is looking like the tank won't fit untell I get a new bumper built so that I can get the tire out from under the body

Both compressor outputs were tapped to 1/4 npt with a t fitting on one side and a new pressure switch on the other output and i will be cleaning up some of the wireing

Don't mind the mess I just haven't had time to cleen the truck. I am also going with a molded body mount for the whip that will be right behind the rear wheel well

Sorry now comes the ugly part where you get to see the scribbling of a mad man. I sketched up my new rear bumper today. With the highlift on the roof and the whip on a body mount that limits what needs to be on the rear bumper to just a tire and gas as well as a tow package ingredient of the bumper that will be welded to the mounting points. I will make the inner support for the receiver out of the tow kit from my old 4runner and the frame tie ins will go inside the frame rails to help act as stiffeners.

Tomorrow I am off to the junk yard tomorrow to see if I can find some manual locking hubs from a pathfinder or d21 and maby a set of rims to put winter tires on

I have auto locking on now but I prefer manual hubs just becaus I am weird like that. I am seeing now that the pathfinder only came with auto hubs but I think I have seen them retrofitted with manual here. First thing I did on my old 4runner was swap the auto hubs for a set of factory hubs off a t100 truck.

The 00-04 pathfinder actually didn't have hubs. It used a drive slug system to host replaced the hub. The 4wd setup is identical in terms of the rotor, axle, bolt pattern, etc. But the Pathy had a splined cap that bolted on that kept the driveline engaged 100% of the time.

I found 2 nissan pickups in the wrecking yard that had manual hubs today so I took the ones in better shape at a total cost of $50. I'm going to cleen them up and stick them on on my next day off

They were pretty stuck but they could be cleened and and saved. They have the plastic knobs and the bearings would need replaced. If anybody is in the Greeley area they are next to a 80s nissan pickup in at the back of the lot at anders salvage.

Junk yard hubs that need cleened and put on you can see that the selector knob is metal not plastic that was part of what made me choose these ones as well as they weren't stuck in free wheel position when I got to them

The yard is in a farming community where most kids get a 80s or 90s mini truck as there first car so they are fairly common in yards but normal old t100s or 4runners. My first truck was a 85 nissan. Might be I need to start hitting the yard on Tuesdays when the stock is rotated and see how many sets I can pick up.

I'm dead serious. You can sell the crap out of them if you pull em and clean em up. People will get in line to buy them from you. If I still had my 1st gen I'd be first in that line.

Well I'll be back that way on Friday so I'll swing by and see if they're still where I left them. They rotate the cars on Tuesdays

I couldn't get all the oxidization off the outside but the iner ds came out perfect and I can't wait to get hem on the truck. I thought about repainting them to a mat black but I would rather get them on rather than wait to have a good day to paint them. Saturday should be warm enough for me to mount them after work.
