Hi everyone!!! I am new to the XN forum. I am from the Detroit Metro Area (Oakland County) close to Pontiac. I am a third time Xterra owner, the previous two times I had 1st gen and now I own a 2007 Red Brawn Xterra S. I purchased last June and it came with brush guard, 2' or 3' lift and 33' tires. I have added a few minor modifications to my X over the last months. I have not had a chance to go off-roading but that is something that I would like to do eventually. I use my truck as my DD and in the summer, my wife, our dog and I go out camping taking some trails.

The mods done:
GOBI ladder
Rola Roof Basket
mud flaps delete
OEM step rails (for my wife's benefit)
Raingler handles
Amsoil 5w30 engine oil
K&N drop in air filter
Iridium spark plugs
Hellwig 550 helpers
Brush guard delete (for sale)

Welcome to XN. I know there is an X club in the Chicago-ish area. Granted, that is not super close to you, but better than nothing. A few members on XN are members on that, too. Check out the regional part of the forum, might find some people near-ish you to help you out with mods and go wheeling. :)

And post pics, I wanna see this X of yours!

Hey Ramiro - Welcome to the Nation. We (drb and kgb) live outside of Nashville, but I was born and lived in Oakland County until I was 20.

You've found a great place here on the Nation. Welcome!!

First and formost, Welcome to the Nation!!! Secondly, Welcome to the MAXterra Region (Mid America Xterra Clubs). There are a few Clubs in the area as Mel stated the most popular being GLX in the NW subs of Chicago.

There are a few MAXterra members closer to your neck of the woods I believe but feel free to add your name to the ever growing MAXterra membership cause good things are in it's future...

Welcome from just a little south of you, one of my favorite places to explore is just a wee bit north of you, but I did live not too far from you far a while (Jackson).

Thanks for the welcome. I have not gone wheeling but I like to take dirt roads, trails and snow covered roads as much as I can. During the summer, my wife and I go camping mainly to the Pontiac Lake State Recreational area (kinda my back yard) - rustic camping, we went last summer to the UP and we had a blast... We also like to go hiking and I started mountain biking (nothing major, besides I get tired pretty easily). I am a kidney transplant survivor 2/24/2012 thanks to my beautiful wife - one of her kidneys has done wonders in me!!! Born in California, reborn in Michigan (UofM)

I am not pissed at the Lions, I kinda got used to it. Also I am not big in TV sports.

James, its good to hear from you. Count me in for the next M&G, just let me know before my wife and I make plans!!!

Looking forward to meet lots of people, go wheeling, and learning from all!!!

Have a happy, prosperous and safe 2013!!!

Regards,
Ramiro

Like stated there a pretty big club Great Lakes Xterras in ur area. We are based out of Chicagoland area but have members spread out pretty far. One of these days we have been wanting to plan a trip to Bundy hill which is in ur area. We have a few runs down to Badlands in Attica IN and a group gets together once in a while and go to Northern Wisconsin.

I traded my truck last week for a 2008 Infiniti FX45. Love the interior, has awesome extra power and better mpgs.

It did... I did not get to offroad my Xterra as much as I wanted to, and since I did not own a trailer anymore I had no reason to continue to have it, it did not fit my lifestyle anymore, I was 99% on roads and the little off road was on trails that even my wife's Mini can travel them.
