New guy from Colorado

Hi everybody! I'm a new owner of an "older" Xterra. I picked a 2000 up last fall and have been making small progress on it since. A lot of research I did on the interwebs ended up here. Must be a lot of knowledge here. Even so, I'll still probably ask some questions that have been asked before regarding replacement parts and upgrades. Because everybody seems to like pictures, I'll try to get on up before too long.

Thanks

Welcome aboard from WY.

Have you checked out NORAC yet? Great group of guys and gals in Colorado that are really knowledgeable. I try to make it down there to help, wheel, or hang out with them whenever I can

Also info on this forum and Face Book. PM me if you have any questions.

Thanks for the welcome. I'll be sure to check NORAC. I'm working of photos. I can't find the "Albums and Pictures" button in the settings screen. Right now I'm lining up basics, new lights, shocks, tires before snow flies again, and maybe a bumper before the year ends. A lot of this depends on work too. Stupid day job.

You will need to host the pics on a site like photobucket, and link the pic in. the image insert icon is the one that looks like a little picture .

Long hellos

Sorry for the hiatus (mods, you may move this if you see fit). It's been a busy summer away from home and I didn't get to do all I had wanted. I've checked in periodically for advice/public opinion regarding components and some how-to's. I figured this rig was in rough shape but I didn't know the extent of neglect this little thing had experienced. Turns out it'll need quite a bit of TLC but I'm ok with that. This way I can put the stuff on I want. Here are a couple of pictures of my Xterra.

Here's a picture of the rig shortly after I took possession.

Never the less, I did get to get out and play a little. Added a kayak rack for the summer and replaced the black non-functional signals with shiny new turn signals in this image. I'm pretty sure I had replaced the shocks by this time as well. Went with Ranchos.

And another more recently. It's got new tires, Cooper AT3s.

So now I'm working on replacing the power steering pump and there's a lot of front end work in the near future. Hopefully that will get it "caught-up" mechanically and I can work on more mundane things like the headlights and windshield. I'll probably wait until spring to do the windshield. So far this has been a fun project. I look forward to posting more pictures as it comes along.
