Hood risers came in yesterday didn't get a chance to put them on because I was busy helping a buddy building lifting his wife's jeep. May not happen today because I'm at work but we will see what time I get out today

My whole hood shakes when I hit bumps. You notice it now, but it's like a new tattoo. You still see it but it doesn't bother you

my hood, which has never been removed as far as I know, wiggles all over the place when I am driving down the road and hit bumps, so its probably always done it and you have just never paid attention until you added the risers.

But those risers look good, and I actually think it looks a little better with it being raised higher. It looks more like its meant to be that way, and less light its just not closed all the way.

Tucker has seen how much mine jumps around haha ;)

And Jeromy, I think I agree with you. I may be going back to lowes and getting some more washers, hopefully my bolts will be long enough haha

Also, do you have any pictures of your hood where it meets the grill?

I assume you were asking me about the picture. This is as good as I have, from when I installed the winch. I would get you a better one, but its raining.

I was actually talking to blackx09. That's my fault, I didn't make that clear.

When you space the hood, it makes where it meets up out of line and I was wondering how bad his was. I do like the look of his though.

Mine is also done just for looks. I'm not sure how much it helps.

I saw it on Luke's truck and had to copy the idea. Then he took his off.. But I left mine on.

I like the looks of it too. So many haters though haha. I don't care really, it's my X and I like it so I did it :kewl:

I think it looks really good. I was going to do this but decided to install hood scoops instead. You should see some of the hate I get for them haha, but the scoops did drop my engine temp about 15 degrees. Will probably end up doing this as well because there's a purpose and it looks rad.

I turbo charged my subaru in highschool and did this to keep it cool... also had the turbo gauge on the front of the car just behind the hood

The real difference between a scoop and louvers comes down to where you live. I used a scoop because of snow , I didn't want a bunch of rain and snow ending up under the hood. If you live in southern cal, or Az. you have different concerns. and I know people who have done louvers.

I have the rear of my hood raised up and used some Teflon spacers from Home Depot. There is about a 1" gap in the rear now. With my electric fans turned on all the heat comes out rather quickly from the opening instead of just sitting in the engine bay. I did it to help with the high temperature issue and slow speeds when on the trails.
