Since this build has taken several years a lot of the pics have been lost to the gobbles of lost hard drives past.

Started out as an average 04 with the world championship package. First mod was a custom roof rack. I never did trust the factory cross members so I did a low profile basket that sits inside the factory rails.

Sometime around here a set of sliders found there way under the truck
Next came a well used Shrockworks front bumper with a pair of 130w lights. Followed by a frankin lift 3ich suspension lift, AC uca's and a calmini AAL with Calmini shackles.
Fast forward a short while and a set of 15inch Legos found a perminant home with a set of Swampers, and a winch.

Around this time I decided that I needed a trailer, so I built one.

Swampers on the road sucked so it became time for something a little more refined 32-11.5/15 MTRs the old style. along with a old pathfinder transfercase skid, Calmini HD steering, ARB lockers front and rear.

Oh and a home made rear bumper with swing away also found a home.

The last things of any real note would be a rear diff skid and a custom truss to help protect the rear end a little bit.

Last but not least is a diff drop up front, and a set of 33-12.5/15 BFGs, old style again, with the front fenders trimmed to fit, and a set of Throley headers with a nismo cat back.

I am sure that there are things that I have forgotten about, but they can always be addressed later.

Dang, How am I supposed to copy you with such a short set of descriptive-detailed-step-by-step-pictured-how-many-turns-on-the-wrench-to-get-the-right-torque descriptions...lol. Nice pics tho.

Woah. Nice!!!! X2 on the customization. Got anything else in mind that you want to do to it or are you out of ideas already?

It is just the skid plate from a pathfinder, not the tc itself. But I will swap it out to a pathfinder case when I do a set of crawler gears.

For the future, if a swap happens it will most likely be a match set of corp 14 ff, but still unsure if I want to do an atlas, or a doubler.

:confuseded: HUH??? :lols:

Two new axles, both full floater corp 14, a lot bigger and heavier than a dana 44, or the Nissan h233b. The front would be a total custom job, while the rear would be pretty standard.

For the transfer case I do not know if I want to get an Atlas, or if I want to do another transfer case mated to the one that is already there for another really really low gear set.

Just remembered a couple of other little odds and ends like the front frame horns boxed and braced, and I have a tranny cooler with an inline filter

and a truss for the rear axle,

Nice build always been one of my faves. Where did you mount your winch solenoid? I know it's underhood some place along with the connector. Just curious as I have to reinstall mine.

I have it tucked beside the air cleaner.

Quite an impressive build. Awesome pics! I have to admit, so many of the Gen 1's on here put most of the Gen 2's to shame. Yours included. :)

Ah nice way to utilize that space always thought of the evap bracket a waste. I like the way you angled the solenoid keeps the water from draining in from the top. I guess others have said they leak a bit around the terminals letting water in.

After rebuilding one of the spring packs a couple of weeks ago, I noticed that one of the add a leafs also had a crack forming. Luckely I had a set of almost new spring packs in the garage so that I could start making some comparisons.

After a very nice gift from Noxious of the spring packs, I can officially state that the spring pack from a prox4 will and do fit in a first gen xterra.

Step one is to break down the new spring pack to its basic parts.

step two is to jack up the back of the truck and remove the spring pack, and break it down also. You will use the original main spring, but you can use the rest of the pack to build the pack back up.

I ended up using my original main, with the 04 OEM second, new second third, with an additional short add a leaf that I had around the house.

I thoughtg that this would work out for a while, but untill I had two broken leafs in one spring pack I never had the need to actually try this out

After reassembly of the spring pack and installing them the ride is only slightly stiffer, with about an additional inch of lift. So for the record if anyone wants to put second gen springs in the back of a first gen x they will fit, and work very well.

I just used what I had on hand, I really dont think that there is any difference between them. In fact I dont think that there is much, between the first and second gens except the main spring, and that difference is ver slight.

I think there the same as well, the only thing I noticed were the main spring on the gen 2's had a larger bushing for a larger bolt, but i measured everything several times and they are right on.
