Good aftermarket muffler?

So while I was wheeling on a trail, I managed to dent in my muffler and now it has a hole in it. So I was looking for a good aftermarket muffler to replace it. Does anyone have any suggestions on what a good pick would be.

I was looking at the Flowmaster supper 44, but I am not completely sold on it. It seems to be pretty popular I think for xterras.

I am wanting my new muffler to sound pretty deep, and mean, and I felt like the super 44 fit the bill. So does anyone have any experience with these mufflers, or any advise on what to get?

I never thought about removing the Y pipe would that change very much? Also how big of a difference would the magnaflow 12580 be compared to the Flowmaster super 44?

Robert Bills!!! Crazy thread...because I have the exact same set up on my 04...Magnaflow muffler 2 in 1 out to eliminate the stock Y pipe. I arrived at that set up after much debate and thought and never saw that thread! Cool!

^^^Good thread for exhaust systems^^^ It is for a 1st gen, but the set up is very similar! Jump to 3rd page for photos of how I did my set up

Magnaflow is not as loud as FlowMaster or Cherry Bomb...but I like my Magnaflow set up. Louder than stock but not annoying.

The Magnaflow Muffler is chosen since it can be used as a 2 inlet, single outlet muffler. From what I saw, Flowmaster only has single in, dual out. Flowmaster is a chambered muffler with baffles, so it can't be used in both directions. Magnaflow is a straight through design which can be used either way. That was basically why I went with Magnaflow, so I could combine both exhaust manifolds in the muffler instead of the bent up Y pipe.

Cool, been awhile since I looked into the y-pipe solutions. Back when I was researching it guys were having custom y-pipe collectors made or using the aftermarket systems. Does anyone know what the performance differences are from eliminating the y-pipe vs aftermarket y-pipe? Obviously eliminating the stock y-pipe is paramount. I have the doug thorley long tubes but running stock everything else still.
