Despite being a bit on the sick side, I managed to go into work and use the shop to do my plugs. I managed to get all 6 changed just under and hours time with #6 taking me about 5 minutes and #4 taking a good 25 minutes. All seemed pretty consistent with each other after 2.5 years. I did go to NGK Platinum Iridium plugs and they seemed to have smoothed the idle out ever so slightly. I will get the cap and rotor done probably this next week and HOPEFULLY I dont see a trace of the dreaded red dust.

I will get a picture of the old Bosche plugs tomorrow morning and post it up, maybe someone can give me an idea of how the rig is running off of them.

If anyone cares to give me my fortune reading off these, I would be much appreciated

Did the cap and rotor today after work, not a hint of red in the old cap so everything is good to hook.

Next on the list is to get my oil changed.... if only my skidplates didnt have 2 inches of snow and ice on top and 4" icicles hanging off the bottom

Ok.... Minor updates. LED Dash lights are all in. Cluster turned out great! AC controls arent HORRIBLE, not 100% happy with the results, and the shifter light looks AWESOME! I may order 1 more for the cluster and replace the odometers bulb to blue to match, maybe I will play around with the AC controls to get more light evenly.

www.vleds.com

Go there. And nowhere else. They're not the cheapest, but hot damn all their products are on point.

Are you still using the factory 3rd brake light? Or do you have a tire that renders it useless?

I have a big ass tire that blocks it, I still may swap it for LEDs just because.
Don't waste your money. The bulbs don't fit right in the 3rd assembly. Mine fell out of the sockets every other week. Just take the bulbs out. Mount something to the roof rack if WY gives you shiat about the 3rd light.

good to know, do the VLEDs have built in resistors and such for interior bulbs?

Well Chirstmas at my house was pretty slow, we had a "Blizzard" come through and drop about 14" of snow in 24hours, but it was also 40mph winds all day which left us with a 4' x 60' drift in the intersection in front of my house and 3-3.5' drifts up and down the block. Naturally, I love the snow growing up in northern California where 2-3' was an average storm. I got to do some snow bashing with Emma and I must say.... Im quite impressed at the deep powder capabilities. I ended up having to pull a newer Chevy 2500 HD out of a drift, he was burried to his doors. 3 good yanks with my snatch strap and he was out.

Heres the intersection drift I plowed through first thing today. No problems for the Xterra and a small running start!

nice snow pics. but if i could back to LED for just a second...

the LED cluster, does the dimmer still work with them?

also, if you gonna make the turn signals LED youll need to wire in resistors(im sure you may already know this, but just incase). i have them for my rear lights, that and my tail lights are custom.

You can.....or...you can replace the flasher unit under the dash that is compatible with LEDs.

Yeah my dimmer still works great, its on brightest setting and it is perfect. As for the exterior lights I will be putting in a new relay to adjust for the LEDs

Xterra 2 - Chevy Trucks 0

Yup, pulled another chevy from the snow.... He burried himself in my unplowed work parking lot to his frame. Took 1 good tug sideways and he was able to back down the hill.

Wel somehow I managed to shear a leaf spring center pin on relatively flat groundnon my way to work. Gonna have to replace it at linvh and hopefully not have to make new U-bolts...

Hate when stuff breaks.

Good thing I was about 600yds from work and have access to all the tools I needed. I did learn that Alcans are on their way because my stock leafs are shot, the front bushing is non exsistent and the rear is pretty bad. Well there goes my money to regear...

Well the new pin seems to be holding just fine, Im sure it helps that this time EVERYTHING was put back on with an impact and not just muscle strength. I remember I broke the head off a breaker bar trying to get my shackles loose when I did the AAL.

I may have a little trick up my sleeve in the not so distant future with that F250 D44 I have at work. Also learned that a snow wheeling trip is in the works, might make it out to that.

Well today is kinda a downer on the update. At 166,315miles my water pump has sh*t the bed. I noticed that I have been running hotter than what I have been with the R34 radiator, but couldn't quite figure out why. I added more coolant and topped my oil off thinking it could've been a combination of the two. Today I hit 230* barely doing 25mph. Im guessing it is the water pump seeing that I did the t-stat not too long ago and I am in the range for the belt. I guess I will get that going in the next week or two.

Her sucks man. Was all that stuff replaced on the last belt change?

You know, Im not sure. I bought the truck with 138k on it with no records. From the looks of the oil and everything when I first changed them I would say it is likely that the timing belt had never been changed. Not a big deal, I was planning on doing the services after Gonemoab, but I guess now I will be doing them before :/
