Yeah I used the VHT exhaust primer and VHT exhaust ceramic paint. Used a whole can for both. Should last a while lol

Only downside is I need to get them rebuilt. But at $100 a side and shipping I will still be in it half what I would have spent on a new set.

My buddy down in CO picked up my Kings from the seller for me. Woke up to this picture. Hopefully have him ship them off to King to be rebuilt on the 1st. Should have them back 2-3weeks after they receive them.

Minor change of plans. Not sending to King for rebuild. Was pointed toward Rock and Road performance based in Loomis, CA by a buddy of mine. Theyre a little cheaper on the rebuild and have a pretty good turn around. Sending them in after KOH week in Feb.

ANNNNDDDDD yet another change of plans.... due to my shoulder injury and currently unable to work I have to start looking for a more frugal option for rebuilding the coilovers and spending $200 to ship them back and forth really doesn't work well for me. I contacted Chris Meisner of Nisstec and he referred me to a shop local to him that does nothing but rebuilds and servicing of coilovers and shocks. I contacted the shop and hopefully can get them dropped off soon.

Update time: Shocks are going in this weekend for rebuild, should have them back in 2 weeks or whenever I make the 5.5 hour trip to Denver. Finally some progress.

Also, if you havent seen my latest post in the R34 DIY thread I found possibly my golden ticket to bringing my coolant temps down while on the trail. Hopefully while all this is going on I can get a few things knocked off the list and have my rig ready to go for alot of testing and fine tuning this summer and preps for the 2019 season!

Made some progress today. Pulled the axle into the shop and fired up the old metal glue machine. (Really... the machine is like 60 years old)


Bringing the axle home and gonna start prepping for POR15 and getting the steering linkage figured

Thanks, figure being a certified welder I should be able to make it work lol. I do need to probably do another pass over the driver side on the cast housing. I dont like how it turned out in spots. I will save it for another day.

I also loaded up the axle on the way home from dinner tonight. Had a forklift, but I felt strong... probably not the smartest thing with my still injured shoulder

Got the axle on stands and working on some steering.

Tie rod measurement is 38 1/8” with a rough alignment figured out

Used a sawzall to cut the tie rod to length. Pretty impressed with the little Ryobi sawzall my dad has.

One more for tonight. Got the tie rod mocked up amd the alignment is pretty close.

Just got off the phone with 303 Shocks in Denver. Coilovers should be ready next week! He is doing a 100% refresh and putting 45* fittings and new hoses for me. Gonna pick them up on the 13th. Hell of a birthday gift!

Broke out the Tig machine and buzzed the tie rod together. Should hold just swimmingly.

POR15 ordered and purchased spindle bearing and seals today. Gonna pull hubs and work on getting the spindles rebuilt with fresh parts.
