I generally avoid CTD like the plague....every time I shop/compare their prices to other places CTD turns out to be far to high.

Hmm...I was looking at their Molle gear..seemed like they had comparable prices, but I've only been looking for about an hour. I want a LARGE backpack to carry medical gear in.

Found one you like on CTD? If so post a link.....I'd almost wager I can find it cheaper.

Large pack......MOLLE? Med kit specific? Or just a large Molle pack? How durable does it need to be?

I LOVE this, but eff no, I'm not paying $500 for a bag I can assemble for HALF that, including the bag.

I like the layout of this one, but the reviews are horrible for the zippers..
http://cheaperthandirt.net/MOLLE124-1.html

Yeah the loaded kits are always very high. The first one you listed. http://www.amazon.com/Fully-Stocked-Medical-First-Aid/dp/B004Q5UASW

And the second one I actually have two of those that I took in trade from a guy for a pistol I was selling. Chinese and not so good....if you were going to load them and chuck them in a vehicle or a closet to await for an emergency they would probably be marginally OK. Stitching is not that great and the zippers are kind of funky.

Looking about now for an empty med pack.

Please tell me where you are finding stuff cheaper than CTD. I've been buying ammo and AR parts from them for a while now. I'd love to save a few bucks.

What are you looking for? I use dozens of different vendors for firearms, reloading, and my ammo needs but CTD is generally not one of them. Mainly this is due to the quality of what they carry but also the price.

Who isn't?:dead: M855 62gr? How about M193 55gr? Define inexpensive......I have a lot of M855 I paid .14 cents a round for way back when that I am still going through and to me that is reasonable. M855, as I'm sure you know, has skyrocketed over the last 7 or 8 years. So what is reasonable per 1000 rounds to you?

I've been paying about $325 per 1000 rounds, but I've not been buying them in lots that large. Last batch I bought was 500 rounds for $155 plus shipping, so about 30¢ a round, and that wasn't from CTD. I'd love to find some significantly cheaper, but whenever I search I usually don't find any better deals.

The vast majority of what I have and what I have shot over the last 7 or 8 years was Royal Ordnance Radway Green (RORG) M855 that I bought from Wideners in 750 round packs for $140. If I only knew then what I know now I would have bought two to three times more then I did. There was a point that I was buying and shooting 5 or 6 cases a month of the RORG but ammo at those prices are now long gone. Fortunately for me I did buy cheap and stack it somewhat deep. :wut:

Best deals I can find right now are at Wideners for M855 and M193 from IMI (Israel Military Industries). IMI is very good quality ammo and while not spectacular pricing it is, for today's rates, outstanding ammo at a reasonable price. I always buy in 1000 round quantity as the price is always better that way from what I have seen.

IMI M855 62gr 1200 round case for $346

IMI M193 55gr FMJBT 1200 round case for $318

You guys buy in that quantity over the net? Here, if we buy in 1000 round quantities they report it to the CBI (Colorado Bureau of Investigation) for their record keeping. I've only bought up to 900-999 rounds at a time with anything (9mm, 30-30, .40 S&W) and only from the places I'm familiar with. Mountain shops are a little more 'forgiving' when it comes to reporting quantities around that size.

Say it ain't so.....:questions: That's just wrong. The most I ever had the UPS guy unload at once was just over 12K in one order of 5.56x45. We stopped at a Gander Mtn. in Wisconsin once and they were having a sale on Brown Bear 7.62x39. I asked the guy how much they had.......he looks at me and says well there are 4 or 5 boxes on the shelf right behind you. I asked if they had anymore and he got a little pissy and went into the back and checked and said yeah I have 6K more in the back on a pallet. He sneers at me and says should I get the forklift? I said would ya...... cause that would be way better then me lugging it all out to the van a case at a time thanks. :hihi:

Yeah, it's true. I was told a guy came in, bought 2 cases of 9mm. He took out one box, took out 1 bullet and gave it back to the owner of the store. Made it 999 rounds and the owner told me he just winked and let the guy go out without filling out the paperwork. I'm cool with shop owners like that. So I tried it with him. He says after a while I get a free box of 50 (Hell, I paid for it!). I just don't go through pistol ammo that much in the fall and winter.

So if I can get it on the webby without it getting reported, I'm good with that. I just don't know if they report it to the state if they're shipping it to that state. It would negate the whole 'under the radar' thing.

I can't wait until we can build onto our current house. There's an addition to my basement that will happen shortly after too. :zomg:

Yikes...I don't look forward to buying ammo. That's why I'm trying to get rid of my .40 and get a 9mm. That, and I've outgrown my .40, in terms of what I initially bought it for.

These guys don't have a huge selection, but they have good prices and the quality of what I've ordered from them so far is top notch: http://countycomm.com/bags.html

This is another site w/ a way larger selection, that I've been happy with - especially at their prices: http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/Main.aspx?

FWIW - might be worth a glance.

Sportsmans Guide does carry ammo, too, but not quite as low as the prices RacerXXL was posting, I don't believe.
