Got the sliders on! Well kinda... ;)

They're not made for the BL so I scooted it up where just one bolt is holding it through each of the 6 mounting locations and I'm gonna have a guy I know, who's a great welder, weld the rest in to make it solid

Thank you, guys! I'm kinda OCD about that I guess haha

And if you guys wanna help chip in some cash for the SAS I'll kindly accept it ;)

As for next.. Hopefully Santa will bring a winch haha I'm probably gonna get some heavier duty tie rods.. What's the best place to get them?

Why not have your welder friend weld on some plates to your sliders or frame that you could tap and run the bolts through, I have found that when I wanted to repaint the sliders it was easier to pull them off and then paint them, but that could just be my .02

I would say welding a plate on to the mounting plates on the sliders and drilling the appropriate holes would be the best/easiest thing to do if you are going to have to weld anyway.

Here's another idea.. Say I get a piece of metal, and drill 3 holes in it. 2 for the 2 in the slider and one for the extra bottom hole on the frame. I put that between the sliders and the frame and it kinda acts as a washer, bracing it all together..

Think that would be pretty solid?

If you were to put a locking washer and nylon nut on the top bolt I don't see why not. I would also make it out something thick like 1/4" plate or maybe you could get away with 3/16" plate.

So you are saying the top hole in the sliders would be "free floating" and then the bottom becomes the top hole on the frame and then the bottom home in the metal is the bottom hole for the slider?

I don't see why that wouldn't work, others may chime in to agree or disagree.

I actually believe the plate we had laying around was 3/8 inch thick so it'll be sturdy.

And yeah, the bottom hole of the frame will mount with the plate. The top hole on the frame will mount with the bottom hole on the slider. And the top hole on the slider will mount with the plate. So it will all be intertwined.

That's what I did when we did the BL. I knew when we were going to be doing it at the March mod day at 4Wheel Parts in Nashville (thanks again Scott) so I got a friend to weld on some plates that extended down far enough to add an extra hole. Fortunately the distance between the upper and lower mounting holes is two inches so it was perfect for my body lift. Then once we installed the lift all I had to do was bolt the sliders back on using the original lower hole for the top and the hole in the new plate for the lower.

If can drill through the plate through the hole for the upper bolt so that you can get a bolt through it and have it hold on that would work out. It all depends on whether there is enough clearance above the frame to get the bolt through with a nut and locking washer on.

CASEY CAMBYYYYYYY. So glad you made it over here.

Also I wish I documented the look on your face when you won those sliders. It was like a kid at Christmas. With cake. And balloons. And a new Big Wheel. And more cake.

Love that rig, bud. I'll have some pictures up soon from our trail run; there are a few of yours in there.

I might have to do this with mine, I kind of like the gap though.. They are so shiny though, you need to get them scrapped up.

It seems pretty sturdy. I'm not a big fan of the gap; I like it high and tight haha ;)

But I'm scared of the first gash that's gonna occur haha
