Yea those are def stock. I had those on mine when I bought it. Looks good man.

Yeah some kid on base told me bad info. He never did join the VAXC either. Still I'm glad they're stock steel ones unlike some of the stock rims I've seen (what just look terrible).

I have not been around recently. Life hit some very hard times. I am working through them slowly but surely. I have not gotten the chance to go off road and to be honest after thinking about it...I'm not sure if I will ever have the interest. I just want my truck to look cool and have the capability to go off road if ever needed...so if that's taboo then so be it. I just cannot risk damaging the truck. I still owe so much money on it and if anything happens to it I'm up ****s creek. I have not done much to the truck lately.

I did some very minor things. For example the 4 foot CB antenna in the rear. it's mounted to the rear hatch via a system that does not require drilling. It didn't work with my connectors so the mount is sort of my own jerry rigged thing. I never did get the CB radio to work but I'm thinking of buying a 4 foot scanner antenna to replace it so that I have better range on my Fire/EMS scanner. Which I have nicely mounted finally in front of the shifter in that little cubby hole meant for change.

I added some Raingler hand holds to the roof rack. They look nice. It's a minor improvement but it makes a difference. Definitely helps people getting in and out of the truck.

I will be painting all of the plastic pieces this summer (bumper, fenders, etc) to a dark charcoal gray. I also intend to install a hitch in the next month. Other than that I don't know what else to do. Perhaps a basket. I don't have the money for any of the fancy lifts or bumpers everyone else has.

Anyways. Just wanted to pop in. Give an update. I'm still alive. Here's a recent picture for the thread...

sorry to hear the troubles found you man, nothing wrong with having an X that looks and is offroad capable but doesn't get wheeled, after all Timmy has an Xterra that looks offroad capable, is only a 2WD, and hasn't ever been wheeled ;)

as far as a lift, if you're thinking small, and want to do it in a way that actually does you some good in adding load capability let me know, and I can put you together the same package that I got from nisstec, and it'll run right around the $400 mark (shipped and everything) with better coils for the front, an add a leaf for the rear, and new hardware in the back. the coils for the front were the most expensive part, and they were under $200, no need to change UCA's no coil bucket contact, and no other issues to worry about, so, if you're so inclined, you'll be in good shape to do that. (lifts can be done cheaply)

I would *LOVE* to see pics and details on the CB mount, as I need to add a 50" HAM antenna to my X, and have been trying to figure out how to accomplish mounting it...

Hey man, no one can give you crap from not wanting to damage the X. It takes a certain amount of irresponsibility to put your DD that you owe a good amount of money on in situations it could get seriously damaged.

There! I said it! I feel better. But seriously man, you pretty much said what a few guys just wont.

As long as you need any help with mods and I can get down there to help out, put the word out man. If you take it offroad or not, you still got the VAXC to help you out. Especially with the painting, I know I have to re-do all my stuff soon. The trails have beat it all to crap. If you want to set up a paint mod day, hit me up!

I agree with the two above posts. Mines never been wheeled and there's been multiple reasons for that. Even now that well be financially able to make it "wheelable" it still makes me extremely nervous. I mean it's my baby.

Sorry you ran into troubles. That I can also understand. I guess when you become an adult there's always something preventing you from doing what you want. It sounds Like you're making the right decisions for the right reasons and I hope things start going a little smoother for you.

agreed, I can look back at some of the things I did when my X was brand new, and I'll admit it was pretty irresponsible of me, however, I can also say that everything I've put my X through, it's taken zero damage (other than stupid plastics breaking) so, the rigs are quite a bit tougher than instincts will make you worry about...

I'll see if I can take some pictures tomorrow. I'll tell you up front though that it's basically this...

http://www.diamondantenna.net/k412c.html

And then because I bought the wrong connector I took it apart and did my own thing. The mount holding it on though is that thing above.

It's done great with my 4 foot firestik. I'd recommend it if you don't want to drill.

Appreciate it Josh. I might take you up on the offer! I'll let you know. :)

Only cost me about $70 from a retailer.

About the lift. We should talk. I already have 2 inch front spacers and a 2 inch add-a-leaf in the rear. Not sure what else to add. I suppose coils?

Unfortunately you're at the break point where you need UCA's to go bigger. BUT, my lift could still be done without a horribly large cost increase..

OME lift coils at about 170, rear adjustable shackle, and a set of THESE UCA'S at $250, and you have about 3" in the front, plus up to 5" in the rear...

I'll need to remember to message you about them sometime this summer when I get some spare cash. Also I forgot about those pics of that CB mount so I'll try to do them Tuesday after I return home from out of state.

Right now I'm in the process of buying an Xoskel Low Pro Light Bar, 4 KC Day Lighters, and some OTRATTW switches. Going to get some overhead lighting soon!

Yeah I can probably join into that. VAXC is holding a mod day this weekend too I believe. It popped up on my cell phone at work a few hours ago.

Next weekend - it's for the 7th. There are a few coming up. One is next weekend and we are doing Rob's lift, another one is in Sterling to do body armor, and then there is the electrical day at Jay's or Chris' place.

No. The Light Bar IS NOT installed yet. I just stuck it up there to see how it will look when it's installed. Must say...it's going to look EPIC. Going to try to figure out how to install it when the VAXC has it's mod day later this month.

I addition to all the work above. The back bumper cover has been painted with plasti-dip dark grey. Looks brand new. I also painted the steps with black plasti-dip and they look very good too.

Just a small mod but I lost the light. I was really motivated today. Luckily this one got done by 2130. I bought a industrial sized mat (3ft x 5ft) and cut it up to fit the back trunk space. I took the time to cut out the wheel wells and even the two spaces with the baskets. I'm pleased with how it came out AND ****'s not going to roll around anymore!

Light bar is officially on. The curse of the truck and working on it isn't exclusive to Prime's house. Took 10 hours to get this thing on and right lol.

10 hours!?! Why!?!

Also, looks great!

Well. We had to take apart most of the dash and center column to get to the switch area where than vdc off thing is. Then we had an issue with grouding a few times where the lights didn't work, we thought we we're done, but in reality we we're back to square one lol. Just took lots of time. I have more pics that I'll post in a bit.

Gotta thank Chris and Matt who helped me. I would have never been able to do it without them. Seriously. I would have failed at this alone, instantly. :-/

Yeah. It was dark when I got back and I've been too busy working lately to take pics. I'll take an end result in an hour or two.

It was dark? didn't you install lights!!!!! It turned out awesome. It also looks like you all were very careful on how you ran your wires which is good.

@obi_krash and the rest of the VAXC might be amused to know that after I think over a year of pestering I finally put a VAXC decal on the truck. LOL.

I have a James City Rescue Squads one I need to do too but I need to find a decal artist to remake it...cause it's a cheap decal...and I want quality vinyl like my others.
