Alignment trouble

Ever since I put my AC 3" lift on its always pulled to the right some. It's not a big deal I have my old tires to run on but every time I go get an alignment at the local firestones (lifetime alignments) they always tell me because it's so high of the ground and its not OE parts. They say there is nothing they can do to it till I change it all back to stock. My question is wtf are they talking about or are they just lazy sine I got the lifetime alignment and don't wanna do it since I'm no longer filling there pockets....

My local Firestone wouldn't touch my truck after my lift. I brought the specs in, the guys huddled around in the shop looking at them but then told me there was nothing they could do since the only numbers they use are in the computer already. The manager said it was corporate policy. I ended up going to another shop that didn't have a problem doing it. They don't offer a lifetime plan but it was only $60. I've had the alignment done twice just to be sure I'm not screwing up my new tires.

See if your firestone shop will align your vehicle to these specs (numbers in degrees except for toe):
Camber: 0.0 L ... 0.0 R
Caster: 0.9L ... 1.2 R (most you can get on the right, with left side less by 0.3 to 0.6)
Toe: 0.08" each side, 0.16" total

If they can't/won't, take it somewhere that will.

Seems like I might have to find another shop then. But yeah every FireStone around me says there is nothing they can do. :dead:

It can be done...but most techs don't know how to do a custom alignment. I've been to a dozen or so alignment shops and they all look puzzled with the lifted alignment specs.

Also, per NMTerra's specs above...you should be able to get more caster than that. If you have a small amount of caster, it gets very darty on the highway.

They know how to follow the instructions on the computer screen. If you try to hit specific targets that aren't programmed into the machine, they will literally spin wrenches randomly trying to see the number on the screen. You could leave all of your after market parts on there and tell them to align it to factory specs, and they will hit it because the machine will tell them which bolt to turn and when to stop.

I have the life time alignment with Firestone too. I ended up fabricating my own camber gauge and started doing my own alignments, and have them just do the toe in and give me a print out (so I can verify my numbers).
