Welp boss is pissed
Ufck him. You know how to keep employees? Pay them. Ask them what they need. My last job wasn't doing that so I got the current one. When my old boss was given notice he just went yes I figured that was going to happen and I can't pay you what you want. Good luck and have fun.

That went better than the last time I turned in my 2 weeks at a job. The shop manager asked where I'm going and how much I'm going to make. He said ok I'll go talk to the owner came back out about an hour later and said well this is your last day.

You never tell them where you're going or who you spoke with one exception. You get a formal offer letter and you are talking counters. And you always talk counters with someone from HR as a witness.

It does not matter I knew they would not match what that job was going to pay. The starting pay for that job was over $8 more an hour. The owners wife of the company that I left was in charge of HR there so it would not have made much of a difference. The bad thing is when the economy took a no one could get loans for the electric generators and motors that we produced so the company I left for ended up going out of business.

Yeah. I'd never discuss where you're going or how much money you're making. Ever.
Hell some companies get into bidding wars over employees here. One guy I worked with he said 2 companies were in a bidding war for almost a month. They were negotiating pennies before he finally left. The company I work for now tracked me down they said I at one point years ago applied there. They said they keep my resume on file for years this did give me some leverage when i negotiated the tearms for working there. The biggest thing i got out of it is i dont ever have to work OT if i dont want to. if they say It is mandatory I can say tough shiat I'm not working it. I got a few other things out of it like vacation after 90 days.
