Changed the distributor cap & rotor after remembering that I meant to do that when I did my plugs and wires, but realized I never ACTUALLY did it. Truck runs much smoother now.

Also picked up oil & a filter, Royal Purple and STP Extended Life filters were on sale. Also picked up a starter, I hope to bang that job out Friday/Saturday. O2 sensor is due to arrive Friday as well.

Word to the wise: if you're gonna install the No Spill Systems quick oil drain, pay attention to the torque value listed on the packaging. I didn't. Went with factory spec (25# vs their 12#) and snapped the fitting. I was able to bang the piston back up into the oil pan and extract the fitting with an easy out. But I had to remove the oil pan to get the piston back out. 4 hour oil change: complete.

Spent the better part of a day and a half replacing a broken lower control arm. Very grateful that it let go after I pulled into the parking lot at work, instead of a few moments earlier when I was on the freeway.

Not what I would call a fun time, but very satisfying to be able to do it.

I will say that it is not a job for a beginner, and looking back on it I might have it towed someplace instead of doing it the way that I did. Even if I had just had it dropped off at home it would have been much easier.

I like the weight reduction but for daily driving, no thanks. Too much crap getting all up in yo grill and what not. I imagine jeff will see a drop in mpgs as well with all that non-airstreamness.
Can't get much lower than my 9ish right now.

Did you have to get new mounting hardware for the fairlead/bottom winch bolts?

Yea the bolts he had were like Grade 5 or something. I want Grade 8 for the strength but none of the shops open on weekends had any metric grade 8. The bolts from the fair lead were too short so we had to find some longer ones. Apparently his Jeep mount wasn't as thick as our Shrocks

It has everything to do w/ how the shrock mounts the winch. Since you bolt the bottom of the winch to the face of the bumper, which is 90 degrees from normal, nobody's hardware is going to work. We had to do the same on Rob's.

Yea we just so happen to find bolts in my buddies bolt drawer that worked with the square nuts that slide into the feet.

I used it to tension this old dyno while I was cutting it in half. Also added factory fog lights and switch, man what a difference that made!

I put LED bulbs in mine thinking it'd be even brighter. Not the case.

I was thinking hid but I'm not sure I want to draw that much attention to myself on the road. Plus it kinda defeats the purpose of fog light

Stick to regular bulbs. I have the Phillips Crystal vision in my headlights going to do those in the fogs
